Wave has several meanings, most of which relate to repeating changes:
- In physics and technology, a wave carries energy that makes visible light, sound, and many other things.
- A wave (gesture) is a way of communicating with other people using hand signals or other non-spoken ways.
- A wave in the water is a disturbance on the surface (top) of water, caused by the wind, or something in the water such as a boat or a swimmer.
- Amplitude, wavelength (or wave length) and period of a wave are basic parameters of the wave.
