Today in lecture we saw a film on Carl Woese.
Were there any terms in the film or the reading that you found difficult to understand?
Taxonomy uses the word roots tax from the Greek τάξις, taxis, 'order' + nomy from νόμος, nomos, 'law' or 'science'. w:Taxonomy
You'll find that there are many words that end with -nomy such as astronomy ( the science of stars).
