Leaders

Wikiversity Leadership

This page is written by Wikiversity leaders. Wikiversity leader is a person who can improve the content of this page in order to better express a vision for all at Wikiversity to follow. This is a working definition of what a Wikiversity leader is. Until someone else can improve this definition, we will use it as such.

Wikiversity Builders

Students and teachers are two main types of user at Wikiversity. Two other types are researchers and builders. A researcher is somebody who performs research, which is creative work undertaken systematically to establish or confirm facts, reaffirm the results of previous work, solve new or existing problems, support theorems, or develop new theories. A builder at Wikiversity does not learn and he is thus not a student. A builder at Wikiversity does not teach and she is thus not a teacher. A builder at Wikiversity does not conduct any research and he is thus not a researcher. A builder at Wikiversity is a person who wants to help make Wikiversity better and better for all to use and enjoy. Moving some content from one to another page, for example, is not learning or teaching anything new but it helps make Wikiversity a better place for future users. Builders should be recognized and celebrated as well as students, teachers and researchers at Wikiversity.

Student Union

One of the main reasons why Wikiversity is not a quick success is because it lacks a place where students can really connect with one another. How this problem should be addressed is hereby a challenge, especially for Computer Science students. They should build a student union for Wikiversity as part of their learning experience here at Wikiversity.

School Leaders

Leaders for the School of Computer Science should take the lead and show others how to apply Wikiversity leadership at the school level.

Clubs and Organizations

We might want to also add clubs and organizations, though this might get into groups being formed which don't require a Wiki atmosphere or account, etc. There needs to be a good interface for working on projects and socializing safely though, if possible.
