Basic Forms of Adjectives

Using basic Adjectives:

Red:

• あかい　＝　Red　ー　（Akai)　Present tense.　
• あかかった　＝　Was red　ー　（Akakatta)　Past tense.

Examples using Kanji：

• それは　赤い　です。（Sore wa akai desu）。　That is red.
• これは　長い　です。（Kore wa nagai desu)。　This is long.

• それは　赤かった　です。　（Sore wa akakatta desu)。That was red.
