Caesium was discovered by two Germans (Robert Bunsen and Gustav Kirchhaff) in 1860. They found this element using the Spectroscopic method. This useful element was also recognized by it's combustion with water. This made it recognized as an Alkali metal. Cesium's atomic symbol is Cs.
