The first ecumenical parish in England was the parish of Old Town Swindon in Wiltshire. Anglicans, Methodists and URC folk joined together pledged to do nothing separately that they could do together.
Theoretical ecumenism
Def. a principle or aim of promoting unity among the world's religious or spiritual peoples is called ecumenism.
