What are they really good at? Basically Specialization here means What the New England Colonies Produced.

  1. Fishing
  2. Shipbuilding
  3. Metal, tools, and equipment
  4. Naval supplies

Geography

What was the climate like?

New England get's truckloads of snow throughout the year, also not to forget about the cold, long winters.

Summers: Not to cold/hot; Short Summers.

Winters: Long, Cold; Lot's of Snow.

Social/Political Life

This is where New Englanders interacted with other people.

  1. The centers of life were Churches and Villages.
  2. There were many religious reformers and separatists (Plymouth and Massachusetts Bay)
  3. Political and civic (community) issues were discussed in Town Halls and Town Meetings.

Interdependence

Things New England could not produce for themselves and got from other colonial regions.

Mid Atlantic Colonies

Livestock and Grain.

Southern Colonies

Cottons, Tobacco, Rice, Indigo. Also for wooden products like lumber, tar, and pitch.

Appalachian Mountains, coastal lowlands, harbors and bays, wide and deep rivers.

What was the climate like?

Moderate and Mild summers and winters.

Social/Political Life

(Where Mid Atlantic Colonists interacted with other people)

  1. People lived in villages and cities
  2. Lifestyles were varied and diverse
  3. Religions were also diverse.
  4. Political and civic (community) issues were discussed in market towns.

Things the Mid Atlantic could not produce for themselves and got from other colonial regions.

New England Colonies

Metal tools and farming equipment.

Southern Colonies

Tobacco, Rice, Indigo, Cotton, and forest products such as lumber, tar, and pitch.

Resources

Slaves were Africans captured from Africa and taken into the USA to work for the rest of their lives, they were never set to be free unless the owner decides he wants to free the slave he owns.

Appalachian Mountains, Piedmont, Atlantic Coastal Plain, good harbors and rivers.

Summers: Hot and Humid Winters: Mild; Little-Very Little Snow
