Binomial test

The Binomial test is an inferential statistical test to determine whether a proportion obtained from a sample is likely to have come from a population with a given, fixed proportion.

For example, is a coin which just tossed 6 out of 10 heads likely to have come from a population of coins in which there is a 50% chance of a head?

Appropriate effect size indicators could be confidence intervals and/or odds ratio.
