Afrikaans
Afrikaans is a Germanic language closely related to Dutch and is spoken in Southern Africa in the Republic of South Africa and Namibia. The language stems from 17th century Dutch and has been influenced by local African languages as well as languages spoken by other immigrants to the 17th century Cape region - German, French and Malay.
