What writing system(s) does this language use?

Klingon is a constructed language invented by American linguist Marc Okrand, who was hired to create it for the Star Trek movies and television series. In descriptions of the Klingon language, it is written using letters from the same alphabet that English uses (the Latin alphabet) while there is also an invented alphabet that is used when Klingon writing is shown in the movies and series.

What is the history of this language?

Unlike Esperanto, which was invented to help people understand each other, or Quenya, which was invented as a work of art, Klingon was invented as background for a story world that had already been created. An American profession linguist, Marc Okrand, was hired to create Klingon for the third Star Trek movie.
