• Cum te cheamă? — (informal) What is your name? (lit. How are you called?)
• Cum vă numiţi/cheamă? — (formal) What is your name? (lit. How are you named?)
• Mă cheamă . . . — I am called . . .
• Mă numesc — I am named . . .
• Numele meu este . . . — My name is . . .
• Îmi face placere să vă întâlnesc. — Nice to meet you. (It does pleasure to me to meet you.)
• Acesta este prietenul meu . . . — This is my friend . . . (for a male)
• Aceasta este prietena mea . . . — This is my friend . . . (for a female)
