< Game Creation with XNA < 3D DevelopmentIntroduction
Many games require 3D. This used to be very complicated, but has gotten significantly easier with the XNA framework. Still, you need to learn about many new concepts. We first introduce primitive objects, such as vertices and index buffers. Essential for creating 3D models is 3D Modelling Software and also finding free models. Importing models into XNA is also not trivial. Related to 3D are concepts related to camera and lighting, as well as shaders and effects. Also topics such as skybox and landscape modelling are covered here. Lastly, we introduce some 3D engines.
