Desonide
Administration
- Type: Corticosteroids
- Dosage Forms: ointment 0.05%, cream 0.05%, lotion 0.05%

Adult Dosing
- Apply 2-3 times per day to affected area
- Do not use occlusive dressing
- Avoid prolonged use on face, axilla, groin
- Ointment is medium/low potency; Cream and lotion are low potency
Pediatric Dosing
- Age 3 months and older: apply 2 times per day to affected area
- Max use 4 weeks
- Avoid prolonged use on face, axilla, groin
- Ointment is medium/low potency; Cream and lotion are low potency
Special Populations
- Pregnancy Rating: Category C
- Lactation risk: May use short-term while breastfeeding but caution advised. Use lowest potency for nipple area and remove before breastfeeding.
