Contact vulvovaginitis
Background
- Contact dermatitis due to exposure of vulvar epithelium and vaginal mucosa to irritant or allergen
- Does not require history of sexual activity
Causes
- Chemicals (bubble baths)
- Poor hygiene
- Allergic dermatitis
- Parasitic infestation (pinworms)

- Diagnosis of exclusion
- Rule-out infectious cause first
Management
- Consider topical corticosteroids applied BID-TID x2-3d
Disposition
- Outpatient
