Indications

  • Evaluate for subtle carpometacarpal fractures, such as collateral ligament avulsion fractures
  • Evaluate arthritic pathology

Technique[1]

  • Flex metocarpalphalangeal joints of the affected hand to 65 degrees, evert thumb
  • Place dorsal aspect of fingers on image receptor
