Making Safe Food
Wear suitable clothing for handling foods
including aprons and gloves. Keep hair
tied up and covered to prevent
contamination of foods.
Aprons, gloves or any other clothing that
could touch the food should be thoroughly
cleaned, everyday if necessary.
Practical Action
All cuts or wounds should be covered by a waterproof dressing and kept clean, even if they are
not on the hands. Do not handle foods if you have a stomach upset or a skin disease, or even if
you are looking after someone else with these illnesses.
