The Eisenbahnen und Verkehrsbetriebe Elbe-Weser GmbH, evb, operates
passenger and cargo traffic on the northwest corner of Germany and has over 280 km of its own tracks, namely the lines
Bremerhaven–Bremervörde–Harsefeld–Buxtehude, Bremervörde–Osterholz-Scharmbeck Ost, Bremervörde–Rotenburg (Wümme), Bremervörde–Stade
and Wilstedt–Zeven–Tostedt. They also operate buses. evb has 14 LINT railbuses and five older Br 628 railbuses from 1993 as well as
43 locomotives. evb bought in 2013 the majority stakes of Mittelweserbahn MWB, making it then the second largest private cargo
rail operator in Germany.
Together with Hamburger Hochbahn AG, Osthannoversche Eisenbahnen OHE (now defunct) and the Bremer Straßenbahn AG, evb is part owner
of the joint venture Metronom, which is a major player in regional rail passenger traffic around the city of Hamburg.
This is one of the Alstom LINT class 628 railbuses of evb. evb does not own these trains itself, but they are from the local state
rail pool. That also explains the colouring of these trains, which is clearly the company colours of their previous user, the
Transdev/Connex group.
