Voodoo Economics

Coined by George H. W. Bush during the United States Republican Party primaries in 1980, Voodoo Economics refers pejoratively to supply-side economics, which was being touted by rival presidential candidate Ronald Reagan.

Supply-side economics refers to the notion that tax cuts and defecit spending will lead to decreases in unemployment and inflation.
