Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum

The Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, in Kowloon, Hong Kong, was created for an Eastern Han Dynasty brick tomb, accompanied by an exhibition hall located adjecent to it.

The tomb was discovered in 1955 when the Hong Kong Government was leveling a hill slope at Lei Cheng Uk Village for the construction of resettlement buildings. The Government decided to preserve the tomb that was then declared a gazetted monument in 1988. As the only Eastern Han Dynasty brick tomb ever found locally, the Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb has invaluable historic value. Details on the discovery and charateristics of the tomb are always on display in the exhibition hall. Small-scale thematic exhibitions on Han culture are staged from time to time to introduce different aspects of Han culture.
