Eligible receivers are those
American football and
Canadian football players on the offense who are allowed to catch forward passes. They include wide receiver, tight end, halfback, fullback and even quarterback, and in
Canadian football they include also the slotback.
Line positions including center, guard and offensive tackle are not eligible receivers. (A tackle may be eligible if a team lines up with an unbalanced line.)
